Santa Teresa Gallura will also take place this year, the International Festival of Jazz "Musica sulle Bocche."

For each edition the artistic direction relies on a visual artist to create an original image for the Festival. This year is the image of the Sardinian Toni Demuro, who will also be present during the days of the event with an exhibition of his works.

The bill opens Aug. 26 with the opening concert in one of the most beautiful spots in Santa Teresa Gallura, Cala Grande also known as Valley of the Moon. Viewers will be accompanied along the path leading to the beach, where at sunset will take place the concert of the trio Café Caracas with Enzo Favata (saxophones), Marcello Peghin (guitars), UT Gandhi (drums), which will be added in a few moments Ethiopian dancer Melaku Belay. (Entrance ticket € 5.00 including guided tour of the site).

Melaku Belay, famous in his country as an interpreter of traditional Ethiopian dance, will be present for every day of the Festival and will meet the interested public through lectures and performances.


On 27 August they will open the master class, new to this edition: jazz piano with Enrico Zanisi, double bass and ensemble music by Danilo Gallo, battery with UT Gandhi, to which you can register with a fee of € 30 per lesson . They will also feature workshops that will accompany the four days: "Listen guided" by Valerio Corzani, known musician and radio host on Rai Radiotre; "Everything is sound", with musician Alessandro Olla, is a workshop aimed at adults and children which aims to develop the ability to listen to sounds in a creative way and in contact with the natural environment.

Also new this year is the "Music Market of the Straits" placed in the way Saint Lucia, close to the main stage, dedicated to food quality, human rights and sustainability. Open from 20:00 until the end of the concerts.

The concert program will start in the afternoon of 27 August at 19.00 with the arrival of the brass band from Livorno BadaBimBumBand, which continues the tradition for Music of the Straits of traveling shows along the streets of downtown, the beaches and other places of historic Santa Teresa. The group consists of 12 elements will be present every day of the festival with a performance in the morning and in the afternoon with three different shows for arrangements, choreography and costumes: Opus Band, and Banned Gonna Wanna Show.

Also on 27 August at 21:00 the first series of shows in the characteristic square in the neighborhood of Saint Lucia, illuminated by the visual games and special effects of "Ecclesiastes Pro", renovating their presence at the festival for the fourth year: the music starts with the quartet all Sardinian "Four and More" with Massimo Carboni tenor saxophone, to continue at 22.00 with the quartet of Stefano Di Battista, currently one of the greatest interpreters of the alto sax. (Ticket for the two concerts € 15,00).


The concerts will start on August 28 in the morning at 12.00 with the entry of BadaBimBumBand the beach Rena Bianca, to continue in the afternoon along the streets of downtown. At 19.00 one of the traditional festival: the great popular music of Sardinia will be represented this year by "singing in D" with Daniele Giallara (vocals) and Bruno Maludrottu (guitar), at the space in front of the country church of Our Lady of Buoncammino (free admission).

The evening will then continue on the main stage at 21:00 with the quartet led by saxophonist Ivan Mazuze Mozambique, which also participates Enrico Zanisi floor; while at 22.00 will go up on stage the famous French clarinetist Louis Sclavis, with the show "Silk and Salt Melodies" in quartet with Gilles Coronado on guitar, Benjamin Moussay the piano and keyboards and the master of zarb, the Iranian percussionist Keyvan Chemirani. (Ticket for the two concerts € 15,00).


On August 29, it repeats the concert program for the itinerant BadaBimBumBand as already the day before. 19.00 under the olive trees of the rural sanctuary of Buoncammino will take one of the special events of the festival: with Mamadou and Gouney of Africa will stage the show dedicated to migrants, created and performed by young Africans resident in Sardinia. The Senegalese Mamadou Mbengas, in the style of the griots, the great storytellers of his country, tells the story of pain and hope of those who are forced to leave, the great migrations of the past and present, accompanied by six percussionists. (Free admission)

The evening of August 29 goes in the square Saint Lucia with the trio Sardinian Ollantaytambo at 21.00, followed at 22.00 by the original production, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Ethiopia, "Mesa - the Table of Music" that sees the meeting between Enzo favata, saxophones and electronics, and the Ethiopian vibraphonist Mulatu Astatke, a leading name internationally for his long career in which he met Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, considered the father of '' Ethio Jazz "where they meet the tradition Ethiopian instruments of jazz, African rhythms and improvisation. The show, already presented in Addis Ababa on June 2, will be renovated in Santa Teresa Gallura with a formation that includes all seven musicians on stage. (Ticket for the two concerts € 15,00).


The final day, 30 August, starts at dawn with a concert on the beach of Rena Bianca, later become one of the most famous events in the European jazz festivals. This year the scene of dawn is entrusted to the magic of percussion Alfio Antico, a Sicilian musician-shepherd, authentic shaman's tambourine.

At 12.00 the final salute of BadaBimBumBand concluding his performances on the beach of Rena Bianca. During the closing day of master classes and "Listen guided" by Valerio Corzani, while the laboratory "Everything is Sound" will present his results through the creation of a "soundtrack of the festival."

At 19.00 another of the special events of the festival which is also its symbolic closure: for the concert at sunset at the Lighthouse of Capo Testa, "Sonata for the crescent moon - Jazz for two keyboards" with Giuliana Soscia accordion Epino Jodice floor. (Entrance ticket € 5.00 including transport shuttle from the village).

Starting at 21:00 on the stage of the square of Saint Lucia will stage the final party with jam sessions of all the artists and with the participation of young local talent.
